About

Husna is a writer, poet and freelance content strategist. A  Dentist by profession with a journalism degree as well, Husna abandoned a lucrative career to follow her dream of being a full time writer. Her first book, ” My Lyrical Symphony” an anthology of  eclectic poems was published in 2008. She had been a freelance contributor for the Hindu Metroplus, an Indian National Newspaper and was on the editorial board and a feature contributor for The Arabian Gazette, a middle east based news portal.  Currently she is a  freelance content strategist for companies and brands across verticals.

Fiction writing however remains Husna’s endless passion. Her style is often dream-esque with elements of realism woven into it, as if to bridge a gap between the real and surreal worlds that her mind often inhabits.  In her own words ,  “Most writers  I am sure, does have  mild form of Dissociative Identity Disorder at some point or the other, in order to live the characters as we breathe life into their stories. Most often than not, we become them. There is always a conflict between 2 or sometimes more alternate realities within our head. A clever writer, taps this tendency to his or her advantage and that’s when amazing literary pieces or works of art are created. Chaos is necessary for us to thrive.”

Her latest novel, “Saudade” delves into this very aspect of human condition. The dichotomy between what was and what is,  and our innate persistence to live in a nostalgic, sometimes painful past, often disabling us to  be fully in the present Now.
